I arrived in Barcelona on Tuesday, June 2nd, and met up with Brian Barbieri, a friend from my hometown, Wheaton, and we set off to explore the city. We checked out various Gaudi works such as Park Guell, Casa Batllo, and most grand of all La Sagrada Familia, with construction still going on 133 years after the project began. We also wandered through the Gothic Quarter, visited the Picasso museum, spent some time at the beach, and made our way up to the top of Montjuic. After a couple days Brian would head back to London and it was time to transition out of full-time tourist mode.
Thankfully I was also able to secure housing during these first couple days at 64 General Mitre, allowing me to move out of the Pere Tarres Youth Hostel.
